The Royal Commission appointed to inquire into the charges against the metropolitan police reports on the whole, that the police has discharged its duties honestly and with discretion and efficiency. Most of the allegations against t it were not proved. In the Dalgety' ease the arrest was justified and the conduct of the police discreet and correct. The Commission apportion the blame in some of the cases investigated.
