EVICTED ISLANDERS' TROUBLES. Sydney, July 1. Mr Quintal, from Norfolk lslaml, laid before the State Governor papers in Mipport of tliu plea of a limuber' of evicted islanders that liicir holdings were given them by Queen Victoria in IS3II.

"The object in so doing," he States, "is to check any attempt which might lie made on the part of the inhabitants of the Australian colonies to establish themselves on the Island. Legislative interference from colonial Governments should be kept out." Instructions were given Lieutenant Grcgorie to .set aside a little public land and glebe. The remainder should be handed over to the different heads of families."
