TARANAKI GARRISON BAND.

Sir, 3lay I he allowed to express through your columns my appreciation of the splendid action 'of the Taranaki <«arrison Band in so generously offering their services in aid of the fund we in Stratford have started in aid of Tom Roberts and family. It is actions such as the band's that cause this world of ours to wear a brighter aspect .and .serve to bind the citizens of neighboring towns together with those ties of true brotherhood which should be a feature of our national life. That the band's eilorLs may meet with the success they deserve and that (hey may realise that wo in Stratford appreciate to the full their kindly forethought mid good nature is the earnest wish of J. SMITH. Stratford, 27th lune, 1908.
