Mr. E. Gallichan, secretary of the New Zealand Liberal and Labor Federation, arrived in New Plymouth last night. ■Messrs. Newton King and E. Cock returned from Palmerstou North by the mail train last night. •Mr. and .Mrs. 0. Carter celebrated their silver wedding yesterday, and in the evening had a gathering of relatives at their residence on the Victoria road. Mr. Carter was on Saturday evening presented by bis employees with a silver fern-stand in recognition of the event.
