THE HAWtvE'S BAY SEAT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hastings, Last Night. A rumor is current from a Bourc<\ which gives the statement the imprint of truth, that the Hawke's Bay sitting" member (Mr. Dillon), will be raised to the Upper House, and the Government choice talis on Mr. W. H. Jull, of Wa'ipawa. If true, a new complexion is thrown on the political aspect, 'and leaves the following candidates in the field:—Sir W. It. Kußscll, G. Spenqedr Olapham, T. J. Thompson, H. Lan Simson, and W. H. Jull.
MB. T. SEDDON BEFORE HIS CONSTITUENTS. Hokitika, Last Night.: • Mr. T. Seddon, M.P., delivered a postsessional address to a large and entfhusiastic audience. He reviewed the work of last session, referring especially to land legislation and tariff revision. Ho pledged himself to continue to support the Government. A vote of thanks and confidence and appreciation for services rendered to the district was carried unanimously.
