EDENDALE SHOOTING CASE.
A GIRL WOUNDED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Monday. Particulars* of the shooting at Kdendale allege that Stott liad been drinking with hia friend Brown, father of the girl. On Saturday night at six o'clock sjtott returned to Kdcndalc and went to Brown's house. He said he wanted !•'» fight Brown. The girl induced him to go away. He returned between nine and ten o'clock and knocked at the door, which Miss Brown ouencd. IU threatened to shoot the whole family. He had a gun with him. He said to the young woman; "You are the one I want to shoot." She ran into her bedroom. When she was closing the door, St,ott fired at close range through the door. The shot hit the left shoulder, Mta-/ Brown cried out: ''You finite, you shot me!" The reply was: "That is what I wanted to do!" When the doctor arrived Miss Brown was weak with loss T i blood. Htott was arrested at 2 tfliis morning in hcd. When told that lie had shot. Miss Brown, fie replied: "If I did I'm very sorry." _ Stott came before the Court and was remanded.
