WALKING ROUND THE WORLD.
START FROM CUIRISXCHUKGI 'PENNILESS. ChrisU-liurch, flloiulav. Mr. \V. Wilson left Cathodal Sqi'mre shortly after 2 o'clock this afternoon on a walking tour round the world. Ho was farewcllcd by a largo crowd <f friends and others who had assembled io witness tile departure. Mr. Wilson called on Hie Mayor this leant three year*. His itinerary will l-» from Christehurch to the Bluff, then over to Melbourne, across the Australian Continent to Frenumtle, on to Colombo, through India and across Asia Minor to Naples. From Naples he sails /or Eii"and, and makes extensive tours tliroueii tie Mritish i elM> afterwards leaving Qneenst'Own for New York. He then crosses the American Continent to Vancouver, and from Vancouver sails for Auckland, and thence back to Christchurch.
Mr. Wilson ailed on the Mayor this morning, and was given a certificate under the city seal that lie left Christeliurch with no money in his pockets. One of the conditions of the tour is that Mr. Wilson must start penniless.
