FOUND DEAD.

An old man named ll»gg, sviio lived alone in .South Invereargill, wan found dead in his house to-day, death, It is supposed, being due to natural causes. SUDDEN DEATH. Wellington, Laet Niglit,., A man named MeKillop hud a fatal seizure at the Club Hotel, Wellington, this evening. Dr. Ileury was summoned and found the man living, but he expired shortly afterward, apparently from heart disease. McKillop was formerly a railway guard residing at WaHara,' but is understood to have been employed latterly as a gatekeeper at tile Hutt. It is believed he had a wife and child liv'"Jng at Oliingaiti. KILLED BY A FALL. Napier, Saturday. At tlie inquest on the man Kenncd/j ■who was killed by falling down the hold of the collier Kini, the jury found that the accident was contributed to by the hatchway fittings not being in good order or properly put on.
A HORRIBLE DEATH. Auckland, Saturday. H. Dorhc.y, a greaser on the Cornwall, was killed instantaneously this morning. He was working in the freezer, when the big 'auxiliary derrick slipped out of its ■wooden shoe and crashed through the skylight. The end of .the derrick struck Dorhey on the shoulder and 'mpaled him against, the aide, ripping open his chest and abdomen. KILLED OX THE RAILWAY. Taihape, Saturday. J. 11. Furlong, a porter on the railway * tat ion, was killed instantaneously .during shunting operations. DROWNING FATALITY. Hastings, Saturday. The police have been notified that European known only as "Boh," who had lived with the Maoris for many years, fras drowned in Lake Te Haukc t'.iis morning through a boat capsizing. Word was received in Hawera on Saturday morning of the death" of Mr. Robert Smith, fanner, of 'Palmer road, Kapnni, which took place at the residence of .Mr. McDonough, Ahipaipn road, Okaiawa. at about 8 o'clock on Friday night. It appears (reports the Star) that deceased met with an accident on the Ahipaipa road on Thursday afternoon about; 4 o'clock, owing to the horse he was driving being startled by a trac-tion-engine. the gig was capsized, and deceased had one rib broken and probably met with otTlcr internal injuries. He was removed to the residence of .Mr. McDonough, and was attended by lji. Maclagan, who was present when deatli occurred.
A sad accident occurred at Hawera on Friday afternoon, which resulted in the death of Leonard flood, aged seven years and nine months, owing to shock through accidentally falling into a copper of hot water, it appears that a fire bad been lighted in the washhouse sthat the children could have their baths. Deceased returned home from school about 3.20 p.m. There was no one else at the house. Ahotil'4 o'clock he called out to Miss M. Adaiuson, who lives iicxl door, that he had fallen into the copper of water in the. ivashliouse and yot scalded. Miss Adamson at once put him to bed and went for his mother. Dr. Campbell was called in. and the sufferer was ordered to the hospital, where he died about 11 o'clock on Friday night. Deceased was conscious until half an hour before his death, and told his father that he had been having his bath and wanted some more hot water. He went into the washhouse/ where the copper was, anil by some means fell into the copper.—Si.iar.
