RAHOTU. Building operations have been pretiy brisk lately tip the Xgariki Roa 1, Messrs. Turner C Beadle have just completed a handsome villa to the order of Mr. C. W. Field, whilst Mr. Mars Hill has also completed a nice tottaj;? on his own farm. Mr. Ren Hill is also contemplating building, and some ofthtimber is already on the site.

On Friday evening Sir. Mars Hill entertained a number of his friends at a ''house-warming'' at his new residence. Ngariki Road. The evening was a very rough one. Nevertheless, there wa* a large attendance, over 50 being present. Dancing was the popular amusement, to music provided by Mr. D. Duncan >;id Mr If. Young. During the evening son;:* were rendered by Mrs. Hill. Mi*s JJavvison. and Mr. P. Sole, recitation by Air. (i. Taylor, and step dance* by Mr. 1). Duncan. Refreshments were in abundance, and when going home tinr arrived about 3 a.m.. all retired voting the evening a most enjoyable one. ar.d Mr. Mar*. Hill an excellent host.
