ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
INQUEST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. At the inquest on James McGinn, wharf laborer, who was drowned iu the harhor on Monday, a verdict of accidental death was returned. Kenny and Campbell, the sailors who were with deceased when the dinghy capsized, said they were sober at the time of the accident, although they admitted they luJ. had drink. THE LYTTELTON ACCIDENT. Mr. John Gilroy, who was injured in the railway accident at Lyttelton in Monday afternoon, wo-s operated upon, but the shock was too great, and he expired yesterday afternoon. He had been in the ,U.S.S. Co.'s service for fully 2"j or 30 years, and served as engineer on the Mahinapua, Corinna, Penguin, and other vessels. He leaves two grown-up sons. Mr. (jilroy was a brother of Mrs. I. Moriatni, of New Plymouth.
