THOUGHTS ON BUSINESS.

Is the man above you a progressive man* Does lie aid your advancement or retard it? Does he encourage you to work at your best capacity? Is lie a small-minded man who thinks only little thoughts and busies himself with insignificant things? Is he afraid to have progressive men about him? Does he put. you down every lime you tryto get out of the ruts? Is he afraid to leave anything to your judgment? Is he making progress himself, or Is he just where he was years ago? Kvery worker has a right to ask himself these questions. Thousands of men have had their talents dwarfed and their lives marred and have grown to middle age without making the progress they were capable of, largely because they worked too long under a man of that kind. It is right for each worker to look this matter squarely in the face, and be sure that he is not being warped by such environment. There is too much at stake to let it go 011. II will affect your whole life. Hut the man ahead is not alone lo blame. It does no good to heap abuse 011 his head. Criticism will not make him grow, lie cannot Pielp being a small man. L'erhaps he had a small man over him when lie was younger. Itut it is the worker's privilege to take stock of thi' situation, and. if it seems Hit* right stt'p to lake at the time, to move ino a larger field of work. The world is wide, and there is plenty of work that needs the best every man lias to give it.
