MAKETAWA. Last Friday night an unfortunate accident betel Mr. llill, one of the- drillers on the night shift at the oil-bore, on Mr. I'urgcss's farm at Xorfolk lload. While engaged in his work he was struck on the arm, :i misty break resulting. He was immediately driven by some of the employees for medical treatment at Inglewood. Mr. Joe Dodunski, of Durham Road, has leased his farm to u gentleman from F.lthain. On June 11th a working bee. composed of the residents living up the Durham Koad West, was engaged in repairing the road. Lately the Taranaki County Council's stone-crushing plant has Ix'en engaged opposite Mr. Fitzherliert's house. Most of the metal was used to repair the old Mountain Eoad.
