A SOCIALISTS SUICIDE. Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A man whose mime is said to be Albert K. Freeman shot himself with a .•;• volver near this grave of the Rt. Hon. R. J. ScddOn shortly after 2 p.m. to-day. The shot penetrated the man's head, and lie was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. On His person, letters were found to Mrs. Seddon, Mr. Moore, and Mr. It. Hogg, of the Socialist party. In the man's pockets was also found a large quantity of Socialistic literature, posters, etc., together with a letter from a Socialistic organisation in Denver, Colorado, U.S.A. Constable Brown, who has been stationed in the Botanical Gardens for some weeks past, had noticed the man about there on several occasions. During the past three weeks he was a resident of Jew's boardinghous?, Woodward street, and is between 35 anl 40 years of age. When found, he was still breathing, and was taken to tinhospital, but his condition is regarded as almost hopeless.

ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. DuiH'din, Last Night. A young man named Andrew Armstrong, employed as a cowboy on a farm at West 'J'aieri, wan admitted to Mie hospital to-night, having attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat. Armstrong is 25 years of age, and arrived in the Dominion about eighteen mouths ago. ' It is stated he has been drinking to excess during the last few days, He lost a quantity of blood, but ihe is progressing favorably.

FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT. Jnvercargill, Friday. Leo Patrick Kenny, a shunter, recently transferred from Auckland, fellji'!t'ween two moving trucks and received shocking injuries. Both legs and one arm had to be amputated. The skull was also fractured. Kenny died without recovering consciousness.
