STORMY SCENES IN PARLIAMENT. THE ROYAL FAMILY'S DEBT. Lisbon, June 9. There have been stormy scenes in the Portugal Parliament in consequence of the discovery that the Dowager Maria Pi* owe* the State £200,000. The Dowager explains that the '£14,000 per year allowed her has proved insufficent to maintain her household in royal state. The new King of Portugal, tie joang Manuel, recently made a very oopour announcement, stating that he intended to wipe off the large debt to the Mate which had been incurred by his late father. .
