The game was very fast and interesting, and good play was at times shown. A few minutes after play started, .1. Magan got over lor Opuuake from a forward rush. Martin failed at goal. Soon after Opuuake got on some nice passing. King. Vincent and Martin lak- ] ing a hand; but Hall intercepted, and the Kaliolu forwards, headed by Baker and Molfatt, carried play out of danger. Potter with a tine kick returned. from a loose rush, I'eperell, who was

Soon afterward* half time sounded, with the score: Opuuake 0. Rahotu nil. In the second spell Rahotu made the pace verv warm. 11. The Kahotu lucks got on a nice passing rush, the ball going from Knpi to H. For the winners, Martin and King were best among a good lot of back*. whilst O'Dea. OSullivan, and lepeicl shone among the forwards. For Mkotu, Ravnor and Knpi were tWc p '-k of the back,, as were Motlitt, 11. IlolKerv 11 Phillips, and Raker among the forwards. Mr. J. They have some good individual players among them, but combination seems lacking. The wait of an experienced player in the team wa, also felt. This however, has now been remedied by the inclusion of Henrv Rotliery? an ex-Tarauaki rep., and under his guidance the team should improve in the liner points of the game.
