STRUCK BY LIGHTNING.
[ Auckland, .Saturday. During the heavy thunderstorm on Friday a house lit Mt. Roskill, occupied by W. Peglcr, was shuck by lightning, which set on 'fire. The flames were extinguished, but part of .."* the outhouse was demolished and soma of the contents burned. A chimney of the house itself, in which the family was assembled, was thrown to tho ground. The lightning j, llS sed through the room ' and out of a side window ami scooped a large hole in the gravel outside. Mr. iegler's youngest daughter hud n narrow escape, having vacated a scat in front 0 f the fire-place just before tho chimney fell. ■ ~. A ,
