ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Westport, Saturday. Arbnckle and O'Neill, two 'miners, were injured by a fall of coal at Jlinc Creek Colliery. O'Neill was seriously hurt and Arbueklc slightly. The men were buried three-quarters of an hour before they were rescued. Dunedin, Saturday. The body of Patrick Lynch, aged 48, a single man, was found in an ©pen ditch on Jlaeandrew road, South Dnncdin, lying in seven or eight inches of water. Deceased is supposed to have fallen in the ditch while intoxicated. Whangarei, Saturday. Thomas Johnson Drake, sergeant of police, expired suddenly in Dr. Vestry Smith's surgery, which is attached to the chemist shop of IT. C. Hcmu«. 'At the conclusion of a Court case thevScrgeant complained of a pain in the heart. He went to consult the doctor, but had only been in the surgery a minute when he placed his hands over his heart with the words. "I'm going," and fell -dead, lie leaves a willow and seven children.
