The statement made by Sir Joseph Ward at Dunedin that he was willing to adjust the electoral boundaries so as to leave the South Island as at present with an additional six seats for the North island, .provided the Leader of the Opposition agreed to the proposal, was submitted to Mr. W. V. Massey by a press representative to-day. Mr. Afassey replied that he was not going to express an opinion on the subject at present, "but," he added laughingly, -it's a pretty good admission on the part of the Prime Minister that he cannot get any important legislation through the House without my consent in spite of his large majority."
