MURDER CASES.
London, June 1. The mutilated body of Marie Bailes, aged six and a-half, who lived at Islington, was found in a public lavatory at the Elephant and Castle Hotel, wrapped in brown paper. The head was almost severed. ; It is supposed tho child was murdered by a madman or an epileptic. Seven hundred detectives are searching for the perpetrator of the crime. Paris, June 1. Thrco men and a woman robbed N a Paris villa at midnight after strangling Adolphe Steinheil, a well-known portrait painter, and his mother-in-law, and gagging his wife. The .murderers were seen and recognised. They had formerly been employed as artists' models.
