PRESIDENT FALLIERES IMPRESSED

M. Pichon, interviewed, said that President Fallieres was profoundly impressed with the magnilicent reception accorded him. It was most cheering to sec the policy of understanding with Great Britain become triumphant in the form of a close permanent entente. Both nations feel instinctively that this is ono of the surest means of counteracting all combinations interfering with their interests or threatening the peace. The Jung, the Prince of Wales, and Pnnce'Christian farewelled president iallieres at Victoria station.
LORD LANSDOWNE'S STATEMENT,

Presiding at the Liberal Unionist Club dinner to Mr. Balfour at the Hotel Cecil, Lord Lansdownc remarked that the good understanding between Britain and France initiated by the Unionist Government stood tho test of time and promised to continue to stand. It had found favor with the jwople because it made for the greatest of all British in-1 tere«ts, namely, peace.

President Fallieres, on qiutting Dover, sent a message to King Edward of renewed thanks for the warm reception accorded him, assuring the King that he carried away an everlasting rcinem-1 trance of his stay in London.
