ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
RUN OVER BY A TRAIN. '

Dunedin, Last Night. A young man, supposod to be Colin. Morris, of Port Chalmers, met with a fatal accident on the railway last night, his dead body being found alongside the line, about half a mile south of Dunedin station. The right foot, from the instep, was crushed to a pulp, tile top of tie skull lifted right oil, and the right wrist broken, besides minor injuries. In his ■pocket wns found a postcard ivlrlresseds "Colin Morris, care Mutiiroa, Lytlelton,' ami pusted at l'ort Chalmers. Deceased was apparently about 18 or 20 years of age. It is surmised that he got on tho Mosgiel train instead of the Port Chalmers train, ft nd jumped oil' when he noticed his mistake.
NEVER REGAINED CONSCIOUSNESS.
Dunedin, Last Night On May 8, a man named Stirling was admitted to the hospital in a semi-con-scious condition. Ho lay in the same state until last night, wlien he died.
A young man named Frank Trovies, employed bushfelling on Mr. Mrocklebauk's station at Makahu, met with rather a painful accidont on Thursday afternoon, reports the Stratford l'ost. He was in the act of falling a tree on the hillside and dislodged a stone about two hundred pound? in weight, which rolled down and struck his head, rendering him unconscious. TreTies' mates had to carry him a distance of a mile and a-half through rough bush country to ta» camp,and then on to, Stratford, where he was attended to by Dr. Carbery, and is doing as well as can be expected.
