POULTRY SOCIETY.
A. committee meeting of the Taranaki Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society was held on Wednesday night, in the secretary's rooms. Air. S. Teed (president) occupied the chair. ft was decided to appoint the following gentlemen as vice-presidents:—Drs. Walker, AlcCleland. McDiai'mid, Wvlie, and Lealhain. and .Mr. C. Clarke. A vole of thanks was passed to Mr. G. Tisch for a donation of :C1 Is. and to Dr. Fookes for 10s (id. Air. Sandford's proposition that there he children's classes opened for I iie best pet and for the best dressed doll „.,-, carried. Air. Teed moved and Mr. Crisp seconded, that a prize of 20s be awarded to the ineuliitor showing the best percentage during the. two show daysCarried. Jt was also decided to hold the amateur judging competition again, it being considered that this gave encouragement to fanciers to study the liner points of poultry. The committee intend canvassing the town for special prizes for the shows, and hope their calls will be responded to. The schedule is practically ready, uiid will he out withii two or three days.
