In opening the c,i,-c for the defence Mr- lieadwcll urged that there ■ ould be ii" connection shown between the original slight injury and the amputation that the claimant had not t ik.-ii ica-oiiable means for minimising the risk of further injury, and that the claimant had given and knew what be v.-.is doing when ho gave a receipt in full for the compensation received in respect ..I tlie original injury. The Court reserved its deci-ioii.
