Mr. Archibald Fullerton, a veterau ! of the Crimea, u on hi* way to Auck- 1 land, where lie intends to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of hU arrival in New Zealand. Mr. Fullerton. who i* 77 year- of age. wa, a member of the crew of JI.M.S. Acheron, which arrived in Xew Zealand in IS4B, from Woolwich. ; and during the three tucccrding years wa-? engaged in making th<> fir-t coiu-ph-t-e survry <ji the coast of the Dominion. that occa-ion tli<* captain of the Acheron u-cd many of the original chart' of Captain Cook, and hj" often commended the accuracy of tlie great work in compilation. Mr. Fullerton U hale ;utd hearty, and relate* many interesting incidents of the rNprrieiii.e- on the Acheron and of active service in tlie Crimean war.
