A FATAL FIRE.
Per Press Association. Dunedin, Lust Night. A tire resulting in the destruction .of a (ivo.-voomed house and the death of a child six months' old occurred at Balclutha last ovening. ill's. Weir, wife of a coal merchant, who occupied the house, left the dwelling for a brief period to milk a cow. When she returned tiie house was in Haines. The lire originated in a back bedroom where tile tire had been kept burning owing to a liOy three years' old having a bad throat. .Mrs. Weir rescued jjer three children, ibut the baby was so badly burned about the face, arms and feet that she died this morning. The house, which wits owned by John Cordon, uf Warcpa, was injured for Clot) in the Norwich Union.
