HIDE AND SKIN REPOET, Dalgcty and Company Ltd., held their usual fortnightly isalc of wool, skins, and hides on Friday, when a good catalogue of skins and hides was offered to a full attendance of buyers. The" demand for skins showed an improvement on last sale, prices for best lines being alwut one half-penny per Hi. in excess or previous rates. There was also good competition for hides, and a tinner tone existed throughout, prices being slightly in advance of last, sale. Cheese.—Agents have tried to lever prices up. but buyers arc «low to follow. The market is steady at last week's quotations. The quality of s.s. Kaikoura's shipment in most satisfactory, end cannot but please the consumer.
