LONDON .MARKET REPORTS. Modi's. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cable messages from their London house under dale of the 21sl insl.:

Wool—Hales continue linn and price 6 are rather higher, especially from greasy medium and coarse crossbred ami good merino combing wools (free). The programme of sales will be shortened by three days, closing 2!l(h May.

Einesl is ipioted at 101s. Owing to the poor demand for Australian it may be found necessary to place in cool stores.

Frozen meat—There is a good demand for frozen lamb, but at unchanged prices. Frozen beef and mutton: Fair demand at unchanged prices. ,

liabbit skins —There are indications of an advance iu prices. Tallow—Since our last advices tallowis at par to 3d per cwt. lower. The decline is chiefly ou beef aud mixed tallow of good color. Wellington, May 22, 1908.

HIDE AND SKIN REPOET, Dalgcty and Company Ltd., held their usual fortnightly isalc of wool, skins, and hides on Friday, when a good catalogue of skins and hides was offered to a full attendance of buyers. The" demand for skins showed an improvement on last sale, prices for best lines being alwut one half-penny per Hi. in excess or previous rates. There was also good competition for hides, and a tinner tone existed throughout, prices being slightly in advance of last, sale. Siberian.--Nothing up (his week in lime for the market. There are about 4.."i()() casks due to-day. This butter will no doubt iinil ready sale next week. in anticipation for the Easier demand. Orontes open very much better in poim of quality than the previous lew shipments. Coiicrally speaking, there were no signs of heal. Demand has I n fairly good, and if the quality keeps, no doubt liiivim's will continue to take their regular' mark,, weeklv. New Zealand—All the s.'s. Kaikoura's bu'ters have now been cleared. Quality was line and up |.> the usual bi-h standard of butlers from this colony. The s.s. Corinthie in due to-morrow, but it is now reported that she will be two or three days late. If this is »o. it is a great pity, as unles H the butters are delivered quickly thev will really be too late for (he Kastcr trade, as buyers like to secure their requirements early in the week.

Cheese.—Agents have tried to lever prices up. but buyers arc «low to follow. The market is steady at last week's quotations. The quality of s.s. Kaikoura's shipment in most satisfactory, end cannot but please the consumer.
