The returning ollicer (Mr. ; O'Brien) announced the result verv s promptly after closing, as follows:—Mr • Ji. 1!. Tyler, 50; Mr. il'aul "NViIU-ox, 25. ■ The former was declared elected. There are said to he several changes landing in the district shortly. Mr. Aiken, who recently purchased Mr. i'yrell's property, han sold out to an 101tliani buyer at a price said to lw almut £l7. It is stated that Mr. Aiken has purchased a property at Cardiff. It, is also rumored that Mr. M. 1). I'oynton has disposed of hiri butchery to Mr. li. Uookes. Whooping eougli is at present prevalent amongst the children here. The local fac-torv is only running every other day now, whilst the Kahui road creamery is closed dewn for the winter moutlw.
