INDIAN FRONTIER TROUBLE.
■2lst LANCERS AMBUSHED. ENEMY DISLODGED. Received 17th. 4.15 p.m. Calcutta, May Id. Two squadrons of the Ist Lancers ascended to an ampitheatre at the base of the lvhapak Pass, 30 miles north-west of Peshawar. They were. suddenly fired on from all sides, two being wounded. The 57th and 0!) th Rifles were sent in support, whereupon the enemy retired, and the pass was occupied.
