SCHOOL COMMISSIONERS.
The .School Commissioners met yesterday, when there were present: Messi*. .lames Wade, If. Faull, C. 10. Major, MJP., and W. T. Jennings, II.P, Mr. \\ ado was re-cleetiyj chairman, upon the motion of Messrs. .Major and I'aull. Mr. .Major spoke ill appreciative terms of the manner in which Mr. Wade had conducted the Board's business. The chairman said he hoped that as long as he occupied the chair he would endeavour to faithfully carry out the duties of the trust, and he tlianked the Board for the honour once more conlerred upon liini. The Hawcra Borough Council wrote that the use of one of the Board's reserves a"rubbish and refuse depot had been discontinued. Tile Board's ranger reported that the gate hail been again forced open, and I'ehisc was again being tipped there. The Board decided to forward the ranger'?} report to the Board's solicitors, and that tlu\v }*• instructed lo secure the abatement of the liuirsimee. I lie ranger reported on various reserves and correspondence was read in connection with the reserve leased to -Mr. Walker, jun., on the Junction road, lent free for three years, on account of the amount of blackberry thereon. This matter was left in the hands of the chairman to confer with the ranger. The report on town and suburban hinds was also very satisfactory. Tlio treasurer reported a credit balance of £U4B 17a Od. Tlie Jioai'd approved the transfer of MctiM 15, block 2, Omona, from J. Wil- ' 1 -i to K. .1. (Jurrie; and section 41, block C, Ngatimaru, from J. Wallaco to W. H, Wallace. ' , Transfers of under-leases were approved: M. P. C'hristeiiscu to J. W, l'anljjer, section 110, block 2, Ngaire S.D.j .1. R. Pattineon to Roberts, section II), block 3, Xgairc S.D.; T. S. McGuinlicss to Jame s Hawkins, section 4, Ure- ] uni township. Mr. (i. A. Marcliant was appointed I lie Board's arbitrator in the eases of live arbitrations in connection with renewals; five lessees nominated liira as •ole arbitrator in their cases. Accounts as scheduled, amounting to j:2l 12s Oil, were passed for payment.
