THOUGHTS ON BUSINESS.

Every worker needs to learn not to "bo weary in well doing." It never pays to give up because good work does not immediately attain the desired recognition. A young man, noticing that some of his associates had been promoted to more desirable places, determined to apply himself diligently and win a promotion or an increase for himself. Ho threw his strength and enthusiasm into (he task, and worked on week after week and month after month. After live mouths no promotion or increase Lad conic to him, and lie began to lose heart. When he saw others about him who were not working so hard and were receiving the same wages as himself lie concluded that it didn't much matter whether lie worked hard or killed time. Ills enthusiasm turned lo discouragement and a feeling of "What's the use?'' The. change in his work was quickly noticed, and he lost his position because of it. Before giving up lo his discouragement the young man should have sought the advice of some successful person. Hi* employer should have allowed him to feel tree to K peak to him about his work ami progress. His superiors should have said something occasionally lo encourage his good work, and let him feel that it was appreciated. Men like lo know how they are getting along, and the next best thing to more pay is friendly appreciation.
