WAUEA. i (Erom Our Own Correspondents). s The footballers' ball was postponed I from Wednesday night owing to the ' rain, and was held on Thursday evening : in Ulipropitious weather. The room was ' crowded, however, with visitors Imm i all parts ot the coast. The function proved a great success. The music, wiiich was of the nest, was provided by Airs. J)es Furges. About midnight a h upper was handed round and very much enjoyed. Air. T. 10, Larking acted as Ai.C, and carried out his duties in his Usual capable manner. Dancing was indulged in until aliout three o'clock on Friday morning. The second competition for Airs. .Millar's trophy was lired for on Saturday. The day being wet, only four were present. W. B. Smith got a leg-in. The ranges were 5011 yds and litlbyds. A meeting of the Bille Club was held in the library room on Saturday evening. There was a large attendance, Air C. 11. King presiding. JI was decided lohold a ball on the 17th June. Air. \\. 11. Julian was appointed nmumuilioii secretary. A new trophy has been prej scaled fur competition by the nieuili.'is who cannot attend on Saturdays, and will lire for it on Wednesday.,. Competitors iu the Saturday matches will lie eligible to compete for the other trophy. It was decided to debar unpaid members from competing iu trophy competitions. Honorary members are to be allowed to compete ill competitions. A vote of thanks was passed to the president and three vice-presidents for their trophies. A meeting of the Warea branch of the N.Z.F.C. was held iu the. hall on Saturday night. A fair number of members was preseent. Mr. James Barges,, was iu the chair. Tile order paper was gone through and discussed. The delegate was given instructions in connection with the provincial conference to be held this week at liawera. The directors of the local factory held a (ipecial meeting on Saturday night to , consider the sale of their butter, but no : oilers having been sent they decided to i offer it iit a fixed price. The milk supply at the local factory . has decreased considerably, milk now being received every other day. There i is only a little 'over seven boxes of butter a day being made. The tests I for the week ending 7th are—Five 5.0, live 4.8, one 4.7, throe 4.0, three 4.4. and i one i/1; while the highest at the Newell . road creamery is 5.4. i Three vice-presidents of the liillo Club • are arranging to give a trophy between ■ them, instead of each giving a separate trophy.
