DEATH UNDEIi AN ANAKTHETIC,
Per Press Association. Napier, Last Night. An honest was held this morning touching the death of Michael KirUy, of Hastings, a butcher, aged about 30, who died at (he Napier Hospital on the JOth iust. while under the influence of an anaesthetic. It appeared that deceased had been suffering from a broken arm, and had not been in good health He accidentally broke his leg on Sunday, and was brought in from Hastings in an express, instead of in the anionlance waggon. The jury returned the following verdict:-"That deceased died from the collapse of his right lung while under an anaesthetic, and the jury arc or opinion that every care was taken in the administration of an anaesthetic" The following rider was added:- That inquiry should be made as to charts tor the use of the ambulance for Hasl- | ings, with a view to placing it „„ s „, h a footuig that it may be available at a moderate price."
