The Standard announces the issue ot a weekly supplement entitled "The Standard of the Empire," to be distributed gratis in Thursday's issues of the Standard, and contaning cable and other news of all sorts from the colonies, by the Agents-General, and special writers. It is not stated, but it is correct to say that the Standard receives a heavy subvention from Canada and a smaller subvention from the Commonwealth. This is considered a most unusual circumstance in English journalism.
