Frethey, who are. taking up their residence at Frankley Park, were entertained at Kaponga and presented by the settlers with a. silver tea service and hot-water kettle. Banks, Clerk of the Court at New Plymouth' and Registrar of the Turanaki Electoral District, has been appointed Chief Clerk of the Christchurch Magistrate's Court, but it is not known when he will take up his duties.
