Sir,—As a recent arrival in vour 1 town may I call attention to the ur- . jri'iit need for the establishment of some . institution such as the Y.M.C'.A. or other young men's club rooms. Mv work ceases at five o'clock each „-,,,;. nig, ami from then till bedtime I am confronted with the problem: Where shall I spend the evening, and how? t am a stranger in a strange land. \[v "diggings" are not as cheerful as they might he, and the landlady has a squalling babe, jry two i .smoke fairly strong tolracco. So, as far as the house is concerned m.v own bedroom is my onlv agreeable shelter. l n the absence of a "club I suppose I shall become either a librarv lounger or „ street wanderer, neither o which occupations is to my liking.
