FIRES.
Per Press Association. Auckland, Jlondav. A lire at Jlr. Kohert EarreU's bakery at Oneliunga caused damage to the value, of £ISOO. There was no insurance. A lire occurrcil last niglit at a hoardiiighouse in Hardinge street, owned by Mr. I,'leeson and occupied by llr. Nvkes. The building was gutted and the'contents destroyed. Jinny boarders left in their night robm The building and the furniture were insured, but the loss on the furniture and the hoarders' ettects above the insurance is estimated at from .C2OO to £3OO.
AsTiburton, Monday. A lire occurred in a two-storey Mock m llavelock street owned by Mr* Edwin Thomas and occupied by G.' Biindy (baker). I'usliells (boardinghousc keeper), and Morris Bros, (fishmongers). Fusells' portion was of wood and the remainder of brick. Nothing was saved from I'usliells'. Tile boarders had a narrow escape. Unndy's was gutted, but Some furniture was saved. The owner of the premises loses £SOO over the insurance. The occupiers of the premises destroyed had only a small insurance. The police are investigating. Several minor outbreak* had occurred during tile past 12 months m the boardinghouse.
