/ SUTTON'S DEVON EAVER PY E. IT 18 PERENNIAL If WILL NOT KLN OUT. There is nothing new about Sutton's Devon Caver—it Is over 100 years old.

As Rye-grasi) is the principal grass ; it is very important that the greatest caution end care be exercised i securing seed which will prove perenniall and will not run out. Exper. ence in England has proved that seed saved by Sutton's, from their ole cures in Devonshire, gives not only a grass which will last for all e, but one which has easily a greater feeding valine than all others, ctly the same applies to this colony. The noted pastures in Poverty Bay and Hawke's Bay were all laid down in this seed more than fifty years ago, and are as good to-day as they ever were; in fact, each year they improve. Also, there is no doubt whatever that the finest stands of Rye in Taranaki are those very old pastures which were sown down wi.h this old Devonshire seed in the early days by the Missionaries. It hus held better than all the seeds sown and gathered in the colony. Although the best Colonial Rye, even from Mission Stations, may die out in time, the Devon Eaver, brough here by the missionaries some fifty years ago, though sown in many different localities, remains in the ground today; this applies also to the same seed brought out by Devonshire families nearly forty years f.go. Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very reluctant to accept Colonial and the ordinary imported Eye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for Suttoj's Devon Eaver. This is such a well-known fact amongst the more observant 'Jaranaki farmers that we are pressed on all sides to get supplies from Sutton's of this geed. We ; ive sold out our first two shipments, and the third, comprising 20 lanks, has just arrived per Corinthic. A large quantity of this has been 'joohed for all parts of Taranaki by our shrewdest farmers who realise that a good sowing is as important as a good burn. The Eye all comes out in sealed tanks, thus preserving its vitality. P.S.—Don't confuse Sutton's Devon on Eaver Rye Grass Seed with other seed sold as imported English Perennial Rye—there is as great a difference as between sunshine ana darkness. We guarantee satisfaction, and you have Sutton's name, which has been pre-eminent for 101 years, as a further warranty of satisfaction. REMEMBER-IT IS THE ONLY TRUE PERENNIAL RYE. Tf you wish we can also supply a prime simple of Colonial Rye, weighing 32Iba to the bushel, which cannot fce beaten by any other Colonial Rye on the market. We also stock:—Cowgrass, White Clover, Alsike, Trefoil, Lotus Major, Itnlinn Rye, Meadow Foxtail, Crested Dogstail, Poa Protcnsis, Poa Trivial. Timothy Cocksfoot (prime, heavy, clean, Akaroa 3eed), and all other seeds. Write or wire us for samples. E. GRIFFITHS AND CO., SEEDSMEN, EOMONT STREET, NEW PLYMOUTH.
