Canterbury lamb is quoted at .>|<.d. other than Canterbury brands The beef market is dull. Hind and forequarters are quoted respectively at 3%d and 3'/,d. Butter—The market is very firm and there is a general and active demand. Choicest Xew Zealand butter U quoted at 112s. Australian 108s, Danish 112s. Siberian 108s per cwt. Cheese—The market is steady. Prices are fils for white and 02s for colored makes. Hemp—The market is steady, and there is better demand at the following quotations:—On the spot: Good lair £2O 10s, fair C 25 10s, fair current Manila £'2.i IMS per ton. April to June shipments, —Good fair ,C 27, fair .C2O, fair current Manila £2O per ton

Cocksfoot seed—The market i, (inn. The stock on hand is only small. It is quoted at 80s per cwt. Kauri gum—The market is very dull owing to poor demand. Current quotations are: —Ordinary to fair three-quarter-scraped KiOs per cwt, fair halfscraped 100s, brown fair half to threequarter scraped 00s, pickings, common, to good 47s Od. bush, fair to good pale and amber-sera pod 130s. Wool—The market is firmer. Hops—The market is dull.

Mills and Sparrow, dated l:ith March: Wc are having seasonable weather. with consideraliel sunshine, so that pastures are commencing to show a material increase, home products will soon become an important factor in the general *ituation. The market this week o|wncd with a good demand, and butters were sold as ijniekly as they were landed, but duping the pa-t two or three days there has been very little business transpiring, as an under-cur-rent of weakness developed hi the general position, which somewhat frightened buyers, and at the t-10-e of the week values of most descriptions are down -Is to tis per cwt.

Danish: Trade in the north was quiet and disappointing, consequently Copenhagen reduced its price live kroner (lis) yesterday, which brings the price right on top of colonial.

Sil>erian: Supplies have practically ceased for the time being, only about 3W casks arriving this week! The small demand enabled comparatively high prices to be made. French: The quantities available for rajiort to this country are exceedingly light, and values liad to be raised (id per dozen on rolls, and js on baskets. in order to restrict the demand, but at the close of the week there are evidences of more butter offeriii'. and we should not be surprised to see considerable reduction, made within the next two or three weeks.
