Rowc secured four tries, Dunning, .Messenger, Tyler and Lyuc each on-. -Messenger kicked four goals and Turtill one. For Newcastle Bailey and Lawsoi. scored a try each, and Bailey kicked a goal from a mark.

The opening football match of the third grade in the southern championship was played at Eltham on Saturday, when Pa tea defeated Kaponga by J7 nojnts to 3. in the first spell'Tau kicked a penalty goal, and in the second half Kiugi scored two tries, and Aorere and Tan one each. Pukere converted oile try. Owen kicked a penalty goal for Kaponga just on call of time. The secretary of the Star Club desires to acknowledge donations of one guinea from Dr. Fookes and -Mr. .1.
