At Stratford on Tuesday, tile 21si insjt., there was a good yarding for my bullock fair, a line lot of .1 to 4-yeor-old bullocks being yarded. Competition for these, however, was not very keen, with the exception of a fine line yarded by A. W. Bayly, Esq., which attracted spirited bidding. Most ot the bullocks were passed a t the nanuner, but several linesi were placed privately alter the sale. ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. Christchurch, Wednesday. At the Addingtou live stock market today there a fairly large entry ot stock, but tlu: attendance, on account of rain, was smaller than Usual. Store sheep met with a dragging -ale. Lambs sold best. Eat lambs were rather lirmer, ami fat sheep sold at about last week's rates. Pat cattle were rather dull of sale. Pig* were m good demanil. There was little demand for store cattle.
