A meeting of the Black-'ill Miners' Union waa held this uiorniii ■;, when the president, Mr. Fox, handed iu his resignation. The resignation was not accepted. It is stated that Mr. Fox felt a slight in not being chosen to(represent the union iu (he conference to be held with the Blackball directors in Cbristeliureh. It is rumoured that a deputaI tion of miners will wait on the manager to-day and (submit further proposals for settlement. The Hon. Mr. Guinness goes to Blackball in the morning, it is alleged for the purpose of trying to effect a settlement.
