SUTTON'S DEVON EAVER RYE, IT IS PERENNIAL AND I T WILL NO I 1 EL N OUT. There is nothing new a jout Sutton's Devon Eaver—it Isjover 100 years old. As Rye-gras; is tin. principal grass in ail pastures lor sheep or cattle, it is ver_y important that the greatest caution cud care, be exercised in securing seed which will prove perenniall and will not run out. Experience in lingland. has proved that seed saved by Sutton's, from their old pastures in Devonshire, gives not only a grass which will last for all time, but one which has easily a greater feeding value than all others. Exactly the same applies to this colony. The noted pastures in Poverty Uay and Hawke's lsay were all laid down in this seed more than fifty years ago, and tre as good to-day as they ever were; in fact, each year they improve. ' Also, there is no doubt whatever that the finest stands of liye in Taranaki are those very old pastures which were sown down wi.h this old Devonshire seed in the early days by the Missionaries. It h*is held better tliau' all the seeds sown and gathered in the colony. Although the best Colifpial ltye, even from Mission Stations, may die out in time, tile Devon Eavbr, brough horn by the missionaries some fifty years ago, though sown in many different localities, remains in the ground today; this applies also to the Bame seed brought out by Devonshire families nearly forty years p.go. Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very reluctant to accept Colonial and the ordinary imported Eye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for Suttoj's Devon Eaver. This is such a well-known fact amongst the more observant Taranaki farmers that we are pressed on all sides to get supplies from Sutton's of this seed. We i ivc sold out our first two shipments, and the third, comprising 20 :anks, has just arrived per Corinthic. A large quantity of this has been jool.cd for all parts of Taranaki by our shrewdest farmers who realise that a good sowing is as important as a good burn. The llye all comes out in sealed tanks, thus preserving its vitality. P.S.—Don't confuse Sutton's Dev on on Eaver Eye Grass Seed with other seed sold as imported English Perennial Rye—there is as great a difference as between sunshine ano darkness. We guarantee satisfaction, and you have Sutton's name, which Has been pre-eminent for 101 years, as a further warranty of satisfaction. REMEMBER—IT IS THE ONLY TRUE PERENNIAL RYE. If you wish we can also supply a prime sample of Colonial Rye, weighing 321bs to the bushel, which cannot It beaten by any other Colonial live on the market. We also stock:—Cowgrass, White Clover, Alsike, Trefoil, Lotus Major, Italian Rve, Meadow Foxtail, Crested Dogstail, Poa Pretensis, Poa Trivial, Timothy Cocksfoot (prime, heavy, clean. Akaroa seed), and all other seeds. Write or wire us for samples. E. GEIFFITHB AND CO., SEEDSMEN, EGMONT STREET, NEW PLYMOUTH.
