SUTTON'S DEVON EAVER RYE, IT IS PERENNIAL AND IT WILL NO ( KLN OUT.
There is nothing new about Sutton's Devon Eaver—it As iiye-gras-i ia the principal grass in all pastures lor sheep or cattle, it is v«ry important Unit tlie greatest caution end care be exercised in smiling seed which will prove pereiuiiall and will not run out, Experience ill lingland lias proved that seed saved by Sutton's, from their old pastures in Devonshire, gives not only a grass which will last for all lime, hut one which has easily a greater feeding value than all others, li.vactly the same applies to this colony. The noted pastures in Poverty l»ay and Mawke's Bay were all laid down in this seed more than fifty joars ago, and are as good to-day as they ever were; iu fact, each year tliey improve. Also, there is no doubt whatever that the finest stands of liye in Taranaki are those very old pastures which were sown down wiili this old Oevonshire seed in the early days by the Missionaries. It Iriy held better than all the seeds sosvn and gathered in the colony. Although the best Colonial Rye, even from Mission Stations, may die out in time, the Devon Eaver, brough here by tTio missionaries some fifty yeara ago, though sown in many different localities, remains in tho ground today; this applies also to the same seed brought out liy Devonshire families nearly forty years Ego. Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very reluctant to accept Colonial and the ordinary imported Rye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for SutWs Devon Eaver. This is sucli a well-known fact amongst the more observant '/aranaki farmers that we are pressed on all sides to get supplies from Sutton's of this seed. We i tve sold out our first two shipments, and the third, comprising 20 Unks, has just arrived per Corintliic. A large quantity of this has been aool'.ed for all parts of Taranaki by our shrewdest farmers who realise that a good sowing is as important as a good burn. The Rye all comes out in scaled tanks, thus preserving its vitality. P.S.—Don't confuse Sutton's Dev on on Eaver Rye Grass Seod with other seod sold as imported English Perennial Rye—there is aa great a difference as between sunshine and darkness. We guarantee satisfaction, and you have Sutton's name, which has been pre-eminent for 101 years, as a further warranty of satisfaction. REMEMBER—IT IS THE OTtI.Y TRUE PERENNIAL RYE. l f yon wish we can also supply a primo sample of Colonial Rye, weighing 32ltis to the bushel, which cannot ie beaten by any other Colonial Rye on the market. We also stock: —Cojvgrasa, White Clover, Alsike, Trefoil, I dus Major, Italian Rye, Meadow Foxtail, Crested Dogstail, Poa Pretcnsi-. Poa Trivial, Timothy Cocksfoot (prime, heavy, clean, Akaron ?eod), and all other seeds. Write or wire us for samples. E. GRIFFITIIS AND CO., SEEDSMEN, EGMONT STREET. NEW PLYMOUTH.
