SUTTON'S DEVON EAVER RYE, IT IS PERENNIAL AKD IT WILL NOT BLN OUT. There is nothing new about Sutton's Devon Caver — tt Is over 100 years old. As Kyi'-griisi is the principal grass iu all pastures lor sheep or cattle, il is very important that the greatest caution and care be exercised ia securing seed which will prove perennial! and will not run out. iixperience in iinglaud has proved that seed saved by Sutton's, from their old pastures in Devonshire, gives not only a grass which will last for all time, but one which has easily ;i greater feeding value than all others. Exactly the same applies to this colony. The noted pastures in Poverty Day and llawke's Bay were all laid down in this seed more than fifty years ago, and are as good to-dav as they ever were; in fact, each year I hey improve. Also, there is no doubt whatever that the finest stands of l!ye iu Taranaki are those very old pastures which were sown down wMi this old JX'voushiro seed in the early days by the Missionaries. It IriN held better than all the seeds sown and gathered in the colony. Although Ihe best Colonial Eye, even from Mission Stations, may die out in I iii l ', : iio IVyoii Kavcr, brougli hen; by the missionaries some fifty years though sown in uiany different localities, remains in the ground today; this applies also to the same seed brought out by Devonshire families nearly forty years r.go. Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very re'.lietuut to accept Colonial and the ordinary imported Eye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for Sutton's Devon Eavcr. This is such a well-known fact amongst the more observant '.faranuki farmers that we are pressed on all Bides to get supplies from Sutton's of this seed. We ..1 ve sold out our first twe, shipments, und the third, comprising 20 ./inks, has just arrived per Corinlb:c. A large quantity of this has been .lool.ed for all parts of Taranaki by our shrewdest fanners who realise that a good sawing is as important as a good burn. The Rye all comes out in sealed tanks, thus preserving its vitality. P.S.—Don't confuse Sutton's Devon on Eaver Eye Grass, Seed with other seed sold as imported English Perennial Eye—-there is as great a difference as Itetwcen sunshine ana darkness. We guarantee satisfaction, and yon have Sutton's name, which has Iwon pre-eminent for 101 years, as a further warranty of satisfaction. REMEMBER—IT IS THE Otff.Y TKTJE PERENNIAL RYE. l r you wish vie can also supply a prime sample of Colonial Rye, weighing 32Ibs to the bushel, which cannot tt beaten by any other Colonial Rye on the market. Wo also stock; —Cowgrass, White Clover. Alsike, Trefoil, Lotus Major, Italian Rye, "Meadow Foxtail, Created Dogststil. Poa Pretensis, Pon, Trivial. Timothy Cocksfoot (prime, heavy, clean, />karoa seed), and all other shells. "Write or wire us for samples. E. GRIFFITHS AND CO., SEEDSMEN, EGMONT STREET, NEW PLYMOUTH.
