Captain \V. F. Norbury, of the l!a----rawa, is on holiday leave. His place is being filled in the meantime by Captain CI. Stephenson, of the Ngapuhi. The Wellington City Council lias aceeded to the request of Superintendent Hugo, of the Fire Brigade (who has been appointed Inspector ol Fire Brigades for the Dominion) to relieve him of his duties n a month's time.—Press wire.
.Mr. .1. (!. (Jilberd, for many yeai\superintendent of the Napier Volunteer Fire Brigade, was last night entertained at a smoke concert by the brigade, who made him a presentation.
