MINISTERS ON TOUR.
l'er Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At Balclutlia to-day a deputation waited on the Hon. 1(. McNab with a request that the Covernnient should acquire the Clifton and Otanomomo estates for closer settlement. The former estate comprises 15,(175 acres, and the latter 5,400 acres. The deputation stated that Clifton would settle 7U to SO farmers, while Otanomomo would provide land for about 30. Tile Minister admitted there was a very keen demand for land in the South, lie said the Chairman ol the Land Purchase Board was at present in the South Island looking at a number of properties under offer. lie would communicate willi liim at once, and get him to view Clifton estate. The Minister subsequently proceeded to Tupeka South. Lawrence, Last Night. The Prime Minister, who reached Lawrence to-day, will also visit Koxborougli and Tapalmi this week. He will proceed to Invercargill on Wednesday night, and on Saturday will go through by train and steamer to Wellington, which he expects to reach on Sunday.
