The usual monthly sitting of the S.M. Court was lield yesterday before Mr. Turnhull. Judgment went by default in the following cases:—H. Shotlander v. C'ris Dixon, claim .SO, costs 23s (id (Mr. Strang for plaiutill'). In the defended case of A. Flintoff v.

A, Franklyn, claim £o for damages for loss of a dog shot by defendant, evidence was given on both sides which went to show that the dog was in defendant's paddock with his sheep, and was apparently worrying them when defendant came on the scene and lircd a.t the dog, which ran out on to the road, where he again lircd and killed it.
