Ther« is nothing new abautJ'Sutton's Devon Eaver—it Is years old. As Kyc-graaii is the principal grass in all pastures, for sheep or cattle it is very important that the greatest caution and care be exercised in securing seed which will prove perenuiall and will not run out. Experience m jingland has proved that Bee d saved by Sutton's, from their old pastures in Devonshire, gives not only a grass which will last for all time, but one Which has easily a greater feeding value than all others. Exactly the same applies to this colony. The noted pastures in Poverty Hay and Uawke's Bay were all laid down in this seed more than fifty years ago, and arc as good to-day as they ever were; in fact, each year they improve. Also, there is no doubt whatever that 'the finest stands of Rye in Taranaki arc those very old pastures which were sown down wi.li this old Devonshire seed in the early days by the Missionaries. It hus held better than all the seeds sown and gathered in the colony. Although the best Colonial Rye, even from Mission Stations, may die'out in time, the Devon' Eavcr, brough here by the missionaries some fifty years ago, thougli sown m many different localities, remains in the ground tod.iy; this applien also to the same seed brought out by Devonshire families nearly forty years r.go. Indeed, although Taranaki Soil is very rehictant to accept Colonial and the ordiunrv imported Rye seed, it has shown a remarkable liking for Sutto.i's Devon Eaver. This is such a well-known fact the move observant Taranaki farmer* that we are pressed on all sides to get supplies from Sutton's of this seed. We <ve sold out our first two, shipments, and the third, comprising 20 '/ink*, has just arrived per Corinthic. A large quantity of this has been wol.ed for nil parts of Taranaki by our shrewdest farmers who realii that a good sowing is as important as a good burn. The Rye all conn out in sealed tanks, thus preserving its vitality. P.S.—Don't confuse Sutton's Devon on Eaver Rye Grass Sewl with other seed sold as imported English Perennial Rye—there is as great a difference as between sunshine ana darkness. We guarantee satisfaction, and you have Sutton's name, which bns been pre-eminent for 101 years as a further warrants' of satisfaction. ' ' REMEMBER-TT TS THE ONf.\> TRUE PERENNIAL RYE. Tf you wish J»c can also supply a prime sample of Colonial Rye, weighing 32lbs to; the'bushel, which cannot U beaten by any other Colonial Rye on the market. " -"/-kij We also stock:—Cowgrass, White Clover, Alsike, Trefoil, Lotus Mainr Italian Rye, Meadow Foxtail. Crested Dogstail, Poa Pretensis, Poa Triv-' ial, Timothy Cocksfoot (prime, heavy, clean, Akaroa seed), and all other seeds. Write or «ire us for samples. B.
