KAIiOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the llalioU Title Club Mjas held in the ball on Saturday evening. There was a good attendance of members. Captain J. A. Colmer presided. The balance-sheet proved very satisfactory, and the club appears to be in for another prosperous year, several new members being propo.-cd. (Jilicers were elected as follows:—President and captain, Mr. J. A. Colmer (re-elected); vice-captain, Mr. J. (iuy (re-elected); •secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Chapman reielected): handicap[>er. Mr. A. Baker (re-elected); general and selection committee, the above officers with the addition of Mr. 11. A. Mills. It was decided lo make an effort to obtain the capitation this year. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr. A. Baker for handicapping during the past year. It was decided to try to arrange a match. 10 men a-side, with the I'ihaiua Kille Club, at Pihama on Good Frklav. A meeting of the Domain Hoard wir. held on Monday afternoon. Nurse Campbell, of the Suw Plymouth hospital, is at present at Rahotu on a holiday visit.

The'weather has suddenly become very bleak and cold, and Alount Egmont again wears its winter mantle. As a result of the cold the supply of milk has fallen.

Mr. Johnson, employed at Messrs. Mills and liotbery's sawmill, niel with an accident on Friday last, as a result of which |,e had two' ribs broken. Last, sale day the children's plots in the local school' garden were put up for auction by Mr. Stanley Shaw. Satisfactory prices were obtained, an.l, as I result! the agricultural prize fund, to which the proceeds arc devoted, should be considerably swelled. The result of the sale should be very gratifying to Mr. Campbell, the popular headmaster of the school, who takes great interest in the gardens, as indeed he does everything pertaining to the welfare of the school and the children. A young mail named A. Barker, etitplove'il in the Opimake Sawmilling Co.'s bush, met with a painful accident on Saturday. He was using an axe when it slipped and inllicted a nasty gash on his foot.

The football season opens here on Saturday, when a match will he played with Opimake. The cup fixtures will not start until .May 2nd, by which time 'flic teams, with active training, should be in form.

Several American buggies have just been imported into the district. I understand, however, that since the imposition of the higher duty on these ll does not pay to import them, and local industry may now have a chance.
