HUNT CLUB MEET.

(By "Tally-llo"). The North TaianaU Hunt Chili heiu a preliminary meet at Air. tills Sole's, near Sentry Hill, yesterday afternoon. Judging by the attendance and Ule enthusiasm shown by members, tin; Club should have a most succes*!'ul season. The Club's kennels are now situated at Mr. (jus dole's, and the pack are well housed in new kennels lately creeled. Considering it was the first run of the season, the hound-, iau very well, te.o kills being obtained, the second being ail exception,illy good one. Some good country was negotiated by a number ol the members. there were a few minor spills during the day, luckily without any serious results. Amongst lliose lollowing were-Messrs. i'- Sole (huntsman) on Mack Jack; A..Will' (master) on Kirij A. 11. Haleoiul.e (depute) on less; A. 11. Street (whip); Mi-s May Sole on Kangamii; Aiesdaincs A. Clill'. f. Pratt. C. Webb, Mi.,-, Ijuigley; Air. Wllotilton on Alpine; \\. l-'ilzioy on Tin; J. 11. Street on Parawai; E. Julian on Keynanlian; and Ales-Sis. C. Jlattiicws, 11. Pigott, F. Piatt. JO. C. Ilodgmaii, .1. li. Alabiu, T. Parker, W. ami J. Thoiiia.son, (Jus Sole, (ieorge Sampson. \Y. Free, ami u number of others. Amongst those driving were Messrs S. AlcCuiniiess (president), Mr. and Mrs. C. Jenkins. and Mr. aud Airs. N. Hill.

The Club's opening meet will be held at Ireniii on ilrd inst., when members will be entertained by Messrs (!. AlcCiiiiincss and A. 11. llaleoiube. Regular fortnightly meets will linn i, L . held until the close of the Season. It is the intention of the Club to obtain affiliation Ibis season with the .\t'w Zealand Hunting Association, and the application has already been forwardeu to the Association.

The elnl, is fortunate in having the services of Air. Percy Sole as huntsman. This young sportsman should prove a very capable officer to the Club.

'The Club's best thanks are due to those farmers whose property was hunted over during the day.
